A 95 alternator IS a DOHC alternator. You meant SOHC?

Just go to any auto parts store online and see if the part number is the same for the SOHC alternator and the DOHC alternator.

^^^ The part number is not the same.
Your question does not make sense, as the 95 alternator IS the DOHC alternator.
The 89 had an 80 amp alternator, and the 95 a 90 amp... Even if the 89 would fit, why hustle backwards? I have an 89 with a 95 twincam, and my alternator is fresh off of the 95 engine.

95-96 SE models are 90amp. Every other model, inclulding SOHCs are 80amp.

Asking if you can use the alternator that came with the engine you're planning to use is retarded. Think next time. Of course you can use it.

it's always good to help, but you just repeated "flip's" words more than an hour after.

Not exactly. His reply suggests all 95 models use the 90amp unit, which is untrue. I just didn't want some fool coming back crying because he got one off a base model and it's only 80amps, so he was lied to and misled and feels the need to start another thread about how zilvia wronged him and his family and now they must live in a refrigerator box and eat dead rats.

I searched several sites last night before I posted that and none mentioned a difference between base and SE models, all of the 95 ones I saw were said to be 90... Could be another one of those little-known and oddly hidden facts and Russ is usually the only one that knows right off the top of his head.

yes use the 95 alt. the alt housing may look clocked (rotated) to a different deg. but use it anyways... as for the harness, the Pos + post may be larger and in a different location for the 95 alt, but will work with little if not any mod to the existing 93 harness...

i too am one of the rare 89 s13 coupe chassis that converted to 96 DE/OBDII including trans.

dont ask why...
