Shifting Problem

Last night as I was travelling home I encountered the problem of my car not wanting to shift into gear. I was travelling on the freeway for about 45 minutes fine with no problem, but as I tried to downshift the car would not go into any gear. I finally managed to get the car into third and managed to get home. Now the car wont shift into any gear. I just replaced the clutch about 4 months ago. Did the tranny all of a sudden go bad? Any help I would really appreciate it. Forgot to mention that I own a completely stock 1990 s13.

I was downshifting from 5th to 4th, it was a normal downshift too. The car does have transmission fluid and it is not leaking either.

I had a similar problem, the gears were shifting fine one day, parked it the next day it wouldn't go in. The clutch pressure was fine and everything, no leaks. Found out one of the springs was busted on the clutch. But you said you replaced your clutch 4 months ago so it must be something else, slave cylinder maybe?

I'm guessing it's the throw out bearing too. Did it make a weird whirring or humming noise?

check the entire hydraulic system, from the clutch pedal all the way down to the slave. make sure everything is moving and doing its job, also that you don't have any air in the system.

thats a good first step, let us know how it works out...we'll move on if thats no the problem.
