the only problem i have now is that i dont think the starter is getting power...

You should get someone to run a multimeter over everything. Because without that, you are LOST

QFT...or just pick up a decent electronic one from anywhere cheap and don't look back.

I have recently bought one...never thought I needed it...UNTIL NOW, when I now know many of my previous problems would have been solved much quicker.

YouTube has a lot of multimeter instructions.
