KA Dies after warming up
In the last stages of project "Get this fucking s13 running already, goddamnit!", we finally have my friend's s13 running on all four cylinders (Gasp!) with no fuel leaks (Double gasp!)... but when he starts it, it idles at 1500rpm until it comes up to operating temp, at which point the idle drops to about 500 and dies shortly after. What should we look for?

O2 sensor is brand new. Coolant temp sensor may be an issue... what about the TPS needing adjustment? Its only slightly off, but off nonetheless.

Did you set base idle and timing correctly? Sounds like once the IACV-Air Regulator closes the IACV-AAC valve isn't allowing enough air threw to maintain idle either because it is stuck closed and or the idle air control screw is improperly set.

Hmmm..... I gotta make sure that the IACV's vacuum hose is hooked up right. I have a feeling he capped it off by accident when we got rid of all the emissions devices lol.

Motor is freshly rebuilt. MAF was bad when we got the motor back, so we got another. It will rev past 2500 so its not bad.

Maybe not relevant to your problem, but if this were a Honda, I would immediately suspect the fuel injection relay. The relay fails when it gets warm.
If you've tried and nothing else makes sense, perhaps check your relays? |

The car will stay running if you give it some gas, but won't idle on its own.

Definitely check the all the valves in the IAC system. If you open the throttle body it won't matter how much or how little air the idle valves let through since you are bypassing.
