Being a fanboy for an American > some monkey-lookin Italian. Where's your pride?

haha. Knowing who has skills is good enough for me. Put them in a race and see who comes out? Nicky Hayden is good but do you really think he can out knee Rossi?

Yeah, the trackday itself lol. If you haven't crashed on your own, you can participate in the race. Faster guys (those who have been on the track a bunch) start in front so we don't crash trying to pass the squiddys.

Then shave your seat.
Shit, change tire sizes. Changing your ride height is dumb just to fit you. If the bike doesn't fit you then maybe you should look for another bike or get use to it, no?

you must have a freak 250 Dan, my 250 (2000 with 6000ish miles on it) would top out at 95 with me on it. and it took about a long ways to get from 75 to that 95.
also, I have found craigslist to be good to find local bikes. as far as insurance goes. country insurance costs me $220 a year for a CBR F41. a ninja 250 was $130 a year. |

I recommend getting another bike until you are extremely comfortable with low speed manoeuvres. Then get a supersport and start learning the fast stuff. Otherwise you will develop a hangup with riding that will be very difficult to overcome later on. Supersports are not made to go slow. Everybody struggles with parking lot speeds, including pro riders. That's just how they're built. Trying to learn on one is difficult. As far as lowering goes, it changes the entire handling of the bike. The rake will be all wrong. The rear suspension has to work extra hard. The wheelbase will be too short. Your fairings will scrape speed bumps. So on. There's a laundry list of problems. Good luck. I have a freak one as well. Mine does the same thing. 2 vs. 1 right now. |

Damn.
I miss my Hawk GT. My car (POS Corolla) decided to get a flat on the 101, and then not start when I pulled into a gas station on my way to work on friday. Seeing as how I am without transportation as my Corolla is a piece of crap, the Z is being rebuilt (literally), and my bike has been at the shop for the last 4 weeks, so I needed to get a ride... "Yes, you can borrow my ZX9-R." Holy shit. This thing has 3x more power than my bike. It's big, wide, has too much power for me, and is so smooth (inline 4 vs my v-twin), I even realize a difference now with how easy the bike is at freeway speeds with fairings (I ride naked). This thing has a bunch of modifications as well, from suspension to engine, it's pretty much a track bike with mirrors and signals. I have lots to ride before I start riding this like how I do with my Hawk... I feel it's too much for me. I'm very much turned off by 900+cc bikes, I don't see myself getting a liter bike as well (unless it's an Ducati Sportclassic 1000S), it's just way too much at the moment. -glenn |

I'm doing 75 by the end of onramps. Ken either something is up with your bike, or you need to not be afraid to rev it.

I've got a picture of Nicky Hayden somewhere wheelie'ing a moped with some chick on the back... teh best part is, I think he was in his Repsol-Honda suit. I'll see if I can find it.
