highly unlikely...the new coupe is an ENTRY level sports coupe for nissan...its a shot in the dark right now if 2 models will be offered...but im gonna take an educated guess and say nissan will offer the car in 4 cyl NA and 4 cyl turbo...the 6 cyl option is completely assinine for an entry level rwd coupe from nissan (the ONLY reason the genesis sports coupe from hyundai is being made in a V6 config is so that i can be marketed in two different positons against car manufacturers from japan and europe...nissan already has its mid range bases covered with the Z...and their high end range covered with the GTR...nissan has NO entry level range covered) but again...please re-read about 10-12 pages back...weve covered all of this Quote:
![]() last time i checked...this isnt 1990...and its not a base model accord with a big H on the front of the hood that above comment really irked me for some odd reason |

A flat black engine bay for every color option would be really smart. This way you wouldn't have to get the engine bay repainted every time you wanted to change the color of your car. For instance, if you wanted to change a red car to white, all you have to do is get the door jambs / exterior repainted, done. This is a simple and uniform way to make the car more appealing to a bigger market. Anyways, I think that a lot of old muscle cars came with flat black engine bays regardless of the exterior color. |

I won't hold my breath though. Unfortunately I haven't heard of Nissan reaching out to the community like Toyota has.

hey dorkidori
im just sayin that not every 240 enthusiast is going to have 25000 bucks to spend on their dream car lets face it most of us dont for 25000 it should be a 6 and if it is a 4 the price would have to be less than that but whatever, this isnt an off topic thread where you post opinions or anything |

im gonna take a stab in the dark here and guess youre either still in your teens/early 20s...or you are a broke ass college student (not being insulting...college takes a heavy toll on your finances) knowing that nissan will be offering a RWD 4 cyl TURBO sports coupe for 25 grand gets me super excited...i know that the day they introduce it to the market...i will be able to go to nissan and actually AFFORD it and dood...if you want a 25 grand sports car thats 6 cyl...go get a used Z or G...the G and Z are both being moved up the expenses bracket slightly with the 370z and G37...given theyre both running about 5-7 grand more than their previous incarnations...nissan NEEDS to fill that hole with a entry level coupe that will easily be affordable by the "20 something" generation...and i cant wait to help fill that void hheehehe |

thats not a bad fake...ill give the person who made that credit...but the one big boo boo they made was not cleaning up the dirt on the left side of the pic correctly...lots of clone tool patterning going on there
im hoping for something a bit sleeker in design from nissan for the new sports coupe...but if that pic from GT2012 is a true rendering...then sleek is DEFFINATLY on nissans list (especially with those arching head and tail lamps on to the sides of the car) |

Now, regarding jmd8590's comments. First off, if a $25,000 car is your dream car, you need some grander goals. Any person making a decent income can afford to have their own place, live comfortably, and own a $25,000 car. So to call it a dream car is pretty sad. Second, it shouldn't be a 6. If it was a 6 it would have to be the VQ, and with the Altima and the Z, it wouldn't be able to differentiate itself enough from the other sports coupes in the showroom. See, what I see Nissan doing is making this a more bare bones (I know the people that have been following this thread are probably sick of hearing me say bare-bones) car. Therefore, the car needs to be offered with very few options. Basically Sans nav, light, and it must be a 4 cyl. It needs to focus on doing a lot with a little. Being able to not nec. outperform better cars in a straight line, but def. in the twisties. This certainly is OT, and you are entitled to an opinion. But, I don't think you have a complete understanding on what the next 240 really needs to be to be a success for Nissan and us enthusiasts. No offense. If you keep up with this thread, I guarantee you will. ![]()

^^^ Just to clarify with exit, with the Altima coupe starting at $20k, and the V6 version starting at $25k, that's a $4k-9k gap between their current sporty coupe, along with their sentra se-r for the same price, and the base Z. While I'm not exactly sure with what Nissan's going to do with the Altima coupe, a $25k rwd coupe would make perfect sense being that it's a latter lower than the Z, but a latter higher than the Altima coupe. Shit, I'll even go out on a limb and say that it'll start at ~$23.5k. If they DO add a V6 as an option, it'll most likely be the least popular model.
Fuck yeah 2000th post.

with the reintroduction of the silvia...the altima coupe and the sentra "UGLIER THAN FUKING SIN" SE-R may just be phased out...theres no real reason for nissan to offer either model (especially the sentra SE-R...thing ranks next to the aztek on the list of ugliest cars EVAR!!!)

I agree. The current Sentra is one of, if not THE Nissan's ugliest car ever.

keep in mind that even though these seem like enthusiasts cars to us, their main goal is to offer affordable, sporty, and most importantly to the manufacturers, FUEL efficient small cars. And these cars are going to be pretty damn fuel efficient. The cars in these segments should easily be getting 30mpg. That really helps their fleet average for the new CAFE regs.

like i've said before the Altima coupe isn't going anywhere, Nissan has had to ramp up production to keep up with demand. i've put rims and tires on 5 of them and they rarely stay on the lot for very long.

Yes, but rarely..and when they do its at the very end when the car is pretty much already done. Thats the American manufactures though. I have not heard of any foreign car makers doing that here in the US.

I'm pretty sure they are lurkers. Think about if an official Nissan rep can here and asked what we wanted in the next gen 240 he or she would be bonbarded with pms from tons of people, all their wishes at him or her. However if this person just lurked they could get a general idea of what the community as a mass wants and expects. Just from reading this thread alone a Nissan rep could gauge that most zilvians expect the car to be between 18-28K with the base model bein just the car with pwr this and that, and the higher models havin LSD ect.

If there is a lurker I hope they are listening to my idea of a RWD G20 revival based on the new Silvia's platform. ![]()
