no, HICAS is a rear steering system. replacing the front rack will only give you the faster ratio that came with the HICAS system. there are plenty more parts, but most people will tell you it isn't worth it.

Just to add. I bet ten to one thats a regular steering rack. Its extremely hard to find a aftermarket rebuilt Hicas Rack these days. Most rebuilders do not know the difference and if they do they will tell you they do not stock them because they can't get them. If you get one they can rebuild it.

Yup, because most people do not return the right cores if the company had any in the first place.

If you are looking for the slightly better turning ratio of the front hicas, you can either:

1) buy a used one from someone who had hicas (and optionally get it rebuilt)

2) buy one that has already been rebuilt (expensive, but saves the time of finding & rebuilding a used one), from somewhere like FRSport: S13 HICAS Rack

Read it, it says exc. hicas. That means its not a hicas rack, pretty simple.

3) there's also the z32 tt rack. it has a slightly higher ration than the HICAS rack and every TT has the quicker ratio, though i don't know how direct fit it is in the s13 or s14. i've heard it drops in like the brakes (i.e., like 90% drop in).

well what i want is the faster ratio. does anyone know any links about swaping the z32 steering rack. i really like my friends steering ratio in his hicas. it makes auto cross and drifting eaiser.
