if you know anything about electronics or circuitry I'd look at repairing the problem yourself, or atleast making it less likely to become the problem again.

Well the problem with this is that these window amps notoriously go bad. They just give out over time. There's really nothing to fix. Just replace it. Done.

In about 10-12 years it'll prolly go bad again....just replace. done.

Just to chime in, it's not always 100% the little white amp box. In my case the window motor just died completely.

... well since most of that info was useless, I'll go ahead and post.

Unplug the window motor. Wire it directly to the battery with some lone wire. 1 to pos, 1 to neg.. to power the motor directly, and reverse. the wires you're plugging into the motor connector. If the motor is fine, borrow a buddies amp and window switches.. I replaced my amp, and bam it stopped working again.. turned out the window switches were fucked up. So before you go replacing shit.. make sure it will actually fix the problem first. If I find the amp I had (1 week old), you can have it.

If you've got a clicking noise and no worky for the window, it's 99.999999999999999% of the time the window amp.

There's always going to be exceptions to the rules....but I like my odds.

Oh and DJ Sunrise, you may want to keep that amp. The second you get rid of it.....well you know.

Ok I tried to fix it but I don't see any broken connection.so is my amp bad or what? I don't get. I don't want to spend 75 and find out that it's not my amp.

Did you check your motor before you go any further? My amp is gone, but the motor was done also. The wire got caught at the gear, which overdrive the amp and burned the motor in my case. Now when I plug a new motor in, it will run for 2 secs then die again.

well if youre not too anal about things then mostly all nissans and infinitys use the same amp/connector. the only differance is the mounting points.

i used my friends 14 for a day and just my luck as soon as i roll down the window i had the same problem so i used my m30s one first. when i had a chance i swapped it out with an s13 one and still works fine to this day. only other problem he had was his drivers side switches went out a couple months later. usually thats the problem with 96s though (i think the amp is built in to the switch).

m30 guys had the same problem and said they used j30 and maxima amps so im pretty sure most of the amps are the same. just gotta ziptie it up or make a custom bracket if you need it mounted that badly.

that should save you some money so you dont have to go out and buy a brand new one.

J30, Maxima, and Altima do not use external amps. You can use M30, Q45, or G20 though. Same piece, different bracket.

That's the amp talking. You've got a short in it. Did you try taking off the door panel and playing with the switch to see if you could get it to work? Try it. Take the panel off, plug the window switch back in, turn your car to the on position. Then wiggle the connector at the amp, does it work intermittently? If it does, replace amp.

Or you can try to 'repair' the amp, I have no idea how to do this because I've never tried it. Mainly because you can find used amps for 40 online, or new for 75. If you don't have the cash for it, just leave it up and don't go through any drive-thrus for a while.

Good luck.

got a amp off a g20 today,
same thing

my cousin opened the window motor and found out the "black voltage regulator" was the problem

we made a little wire jumper and bypassed it, then it WORKED!

so i just used it to reinstall window up

now to find a new motor
or that little chip

Part numbers are different because the bracket is different.
