I always thought the "x" meant "export". So the 300Z became the 300ZX when it came here. The Silvia became the 240SX which to me meant 2.4l Silvia export. I'm most likely wrong but it makes sense to me, and because there is no rep anymore I'll type whatever the fuck I want to.

that explanation is some of the most bullshit uneducated guesswork i've seen concerning s-chassis EVER
