s14 just got my greddy lip installed BUT....

the peice on the passenger side wheel well(toward the ft. bumper), its like some sort of plastic cover thingy. i dont know what its called. I'm sure some of you know what im talking about. well yea, its broken. liked ripped apart. does that have a major function? can I just take the damn plastic cover thingy out? or, if i need to replace it, how much do you think it is? i hope you guys understand what im talking about

to help (maybe) your bumper corner (on the bumper) light bulb socket is accessable by that plastic thingy. i dont know what to freakin call it damn. uhmm..its like some plastic thing, got like vents on it, towards the front bumper. dammit, i give up...does anyone know if i need it?

You're talking about the fender well lining. I haven't had the driver's side peice in since the middle of winter. It should be a fairly inexpensive part.

I don't think it would cause any problems if the plastic cover isn't there...But it will let moisture in easier which wil cause rust. Also if you have a CAI you might be more apt to inhale water.

The one on my right side popped off while I was doing 120 and got sucked under my right wheel.. (riiiippppp) lots of smoke and right tire locked up while it was resting on the plastic.... Scary ****.

And the moral is.. Dont do 120 while that plastic is loose!

you will have a dirty engine bay though. All the road dirt will filter up through the bolt holes in the wheel well. I took my driver's side off to get more air to my SMIC now that I don't have a SMIC anymore I want it back.

::Well live and learn::
