Look at the parts included in popular 'bolt on kits' and then piece a kit togethor yourself. You'll save a buttload of money.

Sometimes the money spent on buying a "bolt on kit" is well spent, though. Peice of mind in having a guaranteed working setup may be worth it to him. Especially for people who don't know a lot about turbo's (who might not be well off turbocharging a 240sx in the first place, actually) would probably do better with a pre-built kit rather than peicing together their own.

Anyways, do a search for FMax, NSport, and XS Engineering. Those are the 3 commercial kits available at the moment.

btw ace, guess what, 1/2" hose adapter is too small for the coolant lines. so welcome to JB welding world. now if you remember how the turbo looks, you can imagine what a pita it is to evenly cover all the space so coolant doesnt leak out.... and you have to do it one at a time cuz they are on opposite sides

doing everything yerself is cheaper and more fun... but can be really painful at times

Instead of posting a dozen pictures of the search button.. you can make a single, working button.
Don't worry.. I've edited your post already.

word to that... i probably had no place trying to piece my turbo kit by myself... and it took SOOOOOO much research... sometimes i think it'd be worth the extra 1500 to get a full kit with not as much fancy stuff...

but the feeling passes, and then i get sick thinking about how my stuff might blow up because ive never done it b4... so i pray to corkey bell...

but yah, if you dont get a kit be sure to do lots of research, and then youll save money, have piece of mind, and know how it works o.O which i thought was more important...

If you have basic mechanical knowledge then I say do tons of research(use the search button read as many turbo posts as your brain can handle then put everything together and ask the questions that you might have to fill the gaps) and then piece together a kit based upon the knowledge that you have learned. I have been reading up on turbo knowlegde for atleast two months now and still learn something new every day. If you are not mechanicly inclined (mentally or fisically) then buy a turbo kit and have a shop install it, but honestly either way you should spend a serious amount of time researching. The search button is your best friend.

Do you have the money for a turbo setup? It would be nice to have another turbo KA in the 240 community. And no I do not posess turbo power in my car. I got the money for a DIY job, but then again I decided I need to save up some more for "blown up engine" money and so I can learn more before jumping into new stuff.
