I just read it to fast. Regardless, what a dumb point to jack the car from. Again, the side works best, and any jack can pull it off.

There are some cars on here that "any jack" couldn't fit under the side of. My car isn't even low and a lot of jacks wont clear the sideskirt. I use whatever I can find to get underneath my car. haha.

The side is fine for changing a tire, but if you're dropping suspension, doing brakes, or anything involving both sides, why do it one at a time?

The best money can buy, 2.5" minimum height, extra long reach, 2ton capacity. You can skimp and buy a shit ass Torin jack from Northern, Harbor Freight, or Costco but you'll be replacing it within a year or tracking down parts to replace the lost rollers, handle, etc. Craftsman makes a good one but it's not long enough for a good reach to the crossmember or diff. The Omega one above is THE jack for a lowered car. Buy right or buy twice. Add a pair of low profile plastic ramps from Ebay ($49) and you're set to raise anything.

Word. Stay away from the Torin jacks (Big Red, Black Jack, Profromance, RapidLift, Sno-Trax, Torin Racing). It was good while it lasted, but it took a crap on me the other day. Crappy Asian tool. I don't know why I bought it, all my tools are USA made. Maybe I should go with this company http://www.usjack.com. Also, I'm my S14 is stock height and I had trouble getting it under sometimes. I'm looking for something else now, that's not big to keep my trunk (its a daily).

This is what I use... The Harbor freight deal...

Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

But I wouldn't trust my life under one of those cheap jacks... I just lift the car up and put jackstands underneath as fast as possible...

Bingo. Torin hydraulics are pure shit. I've used a LOT of jacks in my day and their stuff doesn't last at all. Try rolling one across a rough parking lot and watch the casters break off and roll away. They may last for a little while but if you actually use the jack, IE more than once a month, it'll die sooner than you'd want.

I use this bad boy for my shop. It is really low and has a really long reach. It's big though, so it's not something you want to take in your trunk for track days.

1.5 TON LOW LIFT SERVICE JACK

* 2.5 " Low height and long reach of the lift arm allows this jack to slide under most cars or trucks that have been lowered.
* The longer lower lift arm enables this jack to life some cars and trucks from the front or rear suspension
* Specfications:
* Capacity: 1.5 ton
* Low Height: 2.5"
* High Height: 24"
* Handle Length: 50"
* Overall length: 33.79"
* Overall Width: 15" from caster to caster
* Shippping weight: 119 lbs.

Replacing Shocks/Springs/coilovers or Swaybars. You need both sides up or you are fighting the sway bar.

Seems like I always jack from the front or rear more then the sides now days...

Stands are stands, as long as they have locks and aren't bent they should be fine. I've got stands I paid $10 for and some that were $70, they're not much different.
