It would be wise to recheck the timing after the O2 sensor is operational. The ECU runs in open loop with the O2 d/c'd and I believe that has an effect on ignition timing, so if it was set to 15° not running properly then once it does run properly it likely won't be at 15° any more, but it should run noticeably better anyway.
