the sad part is, it is all due to young, uneducated voters.. time will only tell. i dont look forward to my family losing its small business due to increasing taxes on an already struggling economy. my primary income, my mothers, my dads, my sisters, my aunts. hard working people trying to get ahead in life, forced to carry the load of people too lazy to work hard for themselves. none of the younger crowd ever put any of that into consideration, i can assure you. higher business tax = more people out of work. nationalized health care?? what good can come? people wonder why canadiens come here for medical attention. you dont wait in line. you choose your own doctor. ever spent any time in a veterans hospital? i would never want any of my loved ones to get treated at one of these places. let alone myself..
first it was people making 250K +, were considered upper class. then it lowered to 150k +, then 120+. last i heard, people making $97,000+ were considered, "upper class". these people should be held responsible for the rest? 100k is hardly "upper class." we now have to lend our rights to illegal aliens? pathetic. national security is now in severe jepardy. the list is long, but i am tired from putting in a full day of work...again. i guess that taking responsibility for your own actions is no longer a value. a sad day. i look forward to the day i can confidently say, "i told you so."

no one can say whether or not bush's administration is bad or not. it takes years to see the full effect of policies set by an administration.
wish people were genreally more educated... this is why major corporate businesses stress long term planning. bush had set some pretty major laws in placed during his administration that wont really have effects til much after he's outta office. |

Touching speech from Obama, I hope someone post it so I can save it...definitely some history in the making.
I guess I will call it the "Yes We Can" speech. Quote:
That's very true and rather sad at the same time.

hopefully some of them will be for the better. who knows, iraq may become an instrumental ally in the future. I mean hey, look at Japan. But, i am incredibly bitter about the bailout plan. Japan had the exact same thing happen to them in the 1980s and their stock market has yet to rebound. they did the exact same thing. ah whatever.... obama better not fk things up or he'll ruin it for any other black president runnin for office lol. |

Ok I am going to speak up. I personally did not like a lot of what Obama was saying. Though it was impressive that he got out the vote more so than anytime in the last 60 years. That is both amazing and a good thing. Why? Because basically it has caused the American people to finally stop being apathetic about voting. It also showed a lot of people that their vote counts. Now regardless of them being dumb or ignorant of things,it will cause them to vote again in the future and maybe in a more informed way.
Also before people start with the sky is falling. I want to state something mentioned by a political analyst. Basically two things need to be kept in mind. The Democrats will have to be careful in pushing the Democratic agenda if they go to far then in two years in the Senate elections tables will be turned. It happened in the Clinton administration. Obama is still inheriting the economic situation as well. There is no room for raising tax's until the U.S, returns to a growth economy. That is almost 3 years out at the soonest. If things do not turn around in the next 4 years then American voters will turn on him. This happened in California with the Govenator . He was voted in promising change from the mess that Pete Wilson inherited and made worse. He was not able to fulfill a lot of his promises and his popularity has sunk. Obama will most likely move closer to center than people realize for the sake of running the country. In the end we will see but its not the end of the World. I hope he is able to do the right things and not be as socialist sounding as he was in his campaign. Of course most candidates do not make good on any of their campaign promises anyways. Oh and for edacious about the bailout plan. Ah we dodged the bullet on going into a depression because of it. You may not like but it saved our asses. Oh and do not even compare us to Japan in the late 80's. Japan's financial system is ten times worse than ours is our could ever be. There are so many back door deals and graft its crazy compared to the problems we have. Seriously. In the end Its time to move forward people and work towards our future. Lets put the differences and dislike behind us. The U.S. is not going to change tomorrow. Its not going to change that much in 4 years. Bush has done a good job of destroying our position in the world lets hope Obama can make it more positive.

I dont know about any of you guys, but whenever I see someone proudly displaying the flag in front of their homes, it makes me feel that tiny little bit better about the country in which I live.

I hope yall dont honestly think him being elected is going to stop the race card from being pulled. As long as racism exists, the race card is goin to be pulled. Its goin to take a hell of alot more than that to stop the race card.
I gurantee you that black people who were "celebrating" got arrested tonight, gurantee you that some of those people pulled the race card. I've never pulled it, and hope I dont have to. It would have to be a significant amount of evidence that it was race related for me to pull that card. |
