Looks like Germany to me. I bet it's a 'ring test car that someone photo chopped the head and tail lights on. Would explain how it shifts color and focus throughout the photo of the car but the people are in constant.

I think you're on to something here AJ. Going back and looking at the pics after already posting how fish eyed they are I see exactly what your talking about.

If it was a stateside car it would have stateside plates on it. Plus I was looking at the background thinking where the hell is that?
I thing Autoblog is trying to stay ahead of the other blogs in the announcement factor on this car.

The major thing is how there is great detail in the sides of the car. But the Fish hook in the lights is muddy and there is no gap between the fender and the light. Hell, there is no lip on the fish hooks ether. Look how the gap and lip on the panels disappear when it gets to the edges.

Do the wheels look like a chop too?

I still think this is a photo of a 'ring test car that had covers on the front and rear. Then someone took the time to chop the front and rear on it.

If those pictures are a photoshop, then that is some still right there. Especially getting the headlight washer nozzles in place.

I do think it's a Euro spec 370Z.

The only thing that makes me believe these pics are real is that Nissan said they were holding a private showing of the car before the show.

Yeah it should be, given that that 4th "tail light" should be a rear foglight, which is pretty common in europe.

The same 4th brake light can be seen in the supposed Nismo leaked photo with an US type plate on it.

I believe that's a japanese model, considering the fairlady badging and the lack of steering steering wheel on the left side...

Ah, that's when that starts.

I was looking at that schedule and it seems like it'll be done with that just in time for Detroit. It freakin better be.

well whats even more interesting is if you look at the official Nissan sneak peak to Motortrend article. You will see a slightly camo'ed car and inspect those pics and then compare them to Autoblogs.

Autoblogs pics have some completely wrong things in them. For instance the rear spoiler . In the motortrend shots you see that is actually a bulge built into the deck lid with the third brake light being flush. In Autoblog pics its all wrong, its buried under the spoiler something Nissan would even do in Europe.

2010 Nissan 370Z Mule Rear Passenger Side Photo

In fact in the Motor Trend shots the only things really covered up are the tails and headlights. Which makes perfect sense because Nissan did the same thing with the Maxima pre drop shots as well.

I think at this point we can call official foul on Autoblog's part.

I honestly don't see the resemblance other then the fact that they both have taillights and are hatches.

Those pics are what I'm talking about. I wonder if this is a Nismo edition mule with tape in the same spots? Looks like the Nismo wing and the rear fog light. The area's that are blurry in the pics are the same area's that are taped up in the motor trend pictures.

I don't see what's wrong with the 3rd brake light underneath the spoiler like that. As long as its visual head-on it should be fine (IMO).

Its not a question of preference. Its Nissan would not do it like that because the DOT probably would not approve it.

You missed my point of why I said it was wrong. Did you even look at the Motor Trend shots of a real world Test mule much like the one thats been running around Nurmburing?

The Autoblog shots look completely photochopped once you start looking at each pic side by side. That's why I posted the Motor Trend link.

Come on people take the fucking blinders off your eyes.

I think the classic SW30 styling looks really good. I'd rather have Nissan follow Detroit's classic car bandwagon than some of the new age crap other Japanese car companies are coming up. I'm definitely not saying that the VQ should have pushrods or the new Z should have a solid rear axle, but who honestly thinks the new concepts for the 86, rx7, s2000, or silvia look good? I don't think the lan evo's have looked good since gen 5, maybe 6. The RX8 is a girl's car, and the new STIs are wagons. Japan's automotive lookers died in 2001.

Personally I think the ass-end looks closer to a Porsche 928 than the crossfire... I'm not talking about the rear quarter glass, just the bumper/taillight area... Either way it's looks are quite interesting...

why is it most Nismo models of late just don't look as good as some of the aftermarket stuff?

The headlights I'm actually fine with now. I really don't like the lower fangs on the opening of the bumper.

I don't think the fish hook in the headlight will be that aggressive in person. You would never be able to install or remove the headlight without removing the fender. Seems this car has be retouched so much it looks more aggressive than it is. It's hard to give 3D detail in 2D image editing.
