Hey man, that's great that you got your bro such a good deal on that car, truly ridiculous. Keep at it. Hey and don't mind anyone bringing unwanted negativity to your thread, after all it is your thread. Some guys have been around here so long, but it seems like they still don't realize that this is a car forum, not grammar class or fucking debate club. Keep doing what you're doing bro, and don't forget any updates on this $2000 dollar beast.

I see your sarcasm, but this was definitely uncalled for.

Endangering other people isn't cool. Sure, luckily you got home, but what if you weren't so lucky and wrecked into a mother with her kids going to granny's for the holidays? Pull over, get the tire replaced, delayed an hour or two, who gives. As long as you were smart about the situation. Just saying "fuck it" and driving with the given situation wasn't smart. That's just my opinion. Either way, I still agree with Kevin/mrmeph. |

I try to look at Sillyvia's longer posts like Kerouac, they're written in stream of conciousness. True hack work annoys me as much as anyone, but his hackjob in that other thread was about as well done as what most people on here built/paid someone good money to do for them.
At least he's being honest about the quick and dirty stuff on here instead of doing like most people do and only photographing/talking about the nice parts they bought and ignoring the ghetto work holding the rest of their car together. That's one hell of a deal though. I need to find an SRed car for that cheap.

Now then, I'll see about responding to your post and try not to nitpick each and every syllable. My home isn't 'uptight'. It's just a home (which I'm already in...). I'm generally a nice guy and very friendly in real life. To be sure, I was irritated when I posted that, but it was more the fault of my back than anything else. My point is that you should not have driven with a blown tire. It IS a safety risk, and you can assuage yourself of doing no wrong all you want by saying that you drove slow, etc - you're still wrong for doing it. Keep a spare, or be ready to go buy a new tire. While my ancestors may not have agreed with my approach, I think they'd be happy with me. I have a great family, have served in the military, and am (finally) working toward a degree. While it's true that I might not speak out against you in person, I would attribute that to my discretion and patience. I tend to have neither on Zilvia. Regarding your characterization of me based on my military experience, congratulations for buying into a stereotype. I'll admit that there are things I enjoyed about the military and some behaviors I kept after I left, but I was never a typical Marine, nor do I perceive some misguided connection with it now that I'm out. I don't shave on a regular basis, I've gone over 9 months without getting a haircut once (which was way too much as I looked like a Beatle) and I tend to be rather messy (which has been true throughout my life, even while a Marine). My mind is more open than you'd likely believe, and I'm sorry that you interpret my admonishment of your manner of communication and behavior while towing a car as some osrt of infringement of your life. I am, more than anything, trying to get you to stop behaving in that manner. I'm pretty much nice, but I have a hard time being nice to stupid people (or people who behave stupidly), especially on the internet. I won't be getting drunk anytime. I'm essentially a teetotaler, although I've made no such pledge to be such. I wouldn't say it's ok to hate more than love, per se - however, I do see the advantage in providing 'tough' love. That was a fucking book, and if you read it all, kudos to you.
