Belt emergency

hello, while at work, my car cover got tangled in my engine fan and it also took off the belt that goes around my clutch fan and i guess power steering, so oi drove it a couple of blaocks to a nearby freinds house, i had to wrestle the steering and turn off the car a few times and wait cuz the temp waent to the first hot bar...... so how do i get the belt back on????

HELP IS NEEDED AND DEEPLY APPRECIATED!!

buy a FSM first
this would be answered in there

loosen belt at proper locations and reinstall belts
then retighten properly

check the search mode too for more detailed assistance

i don't understand... are you looking for someone to come out & put it on for you? I mean.. tools + bolts + turn +time = fixed!

Hehehe, c'mon doods, lighten up

OK, the DOHC engine (Is your car '91 or newer?). The belt for the fan and water pump is also connected to the power steering pump. There are two bolts you need to deal with, both 14mm iirc. One is on the backside of the tensioner (below the ps pump) which just needs to be loosened. The other is on the end of the tensioner. This one needs to be loosened and loosened and loosened (untill you can get the belt back in place) as it is a long *** bolt.

Once your belt is back in place, tighten it back up again so on the longer stretch of belt you can't quit flip the belt upside down using your hand. Tighten the backside bolt to lock it into position once you're done.

thanks a lot guys i really do appreciate it, however i am confused, hjow do i unscrew the 10mm bolt, as the unit keeps turning! whats the best way to prevent it from turning?? after llosening that, i pull it out and then i can put on the belt and tighten everything up???
im confused, by the way my car is an s14 thanks!!
