Brake rotors: cadmium vs. zinc plating

I'm buying new brake rotors which are cross drilled and slotted by a company in Rochester, New York. I've been reading up on the topic of plating them, and I see that many companies like Baer and Brembo zinc-wash (zinc plate) their brake rotors, while some other companies cadmium plate theirs. I was wondering, what would you suggest along the lines of plating brake rotors? The one thing I can't stand is seeing rusty brake rotors, especially if I just spent over $300 on them combined. Thanks.

the coatingwill be gone after a few hours. the pads will rub it off
its more for the parts of the rotor that are not touching the pad and cant be kept clean /rust free
when they zinc plate the rotor, the part the pad is against will get rubbed off yet the rest will stay
