Hey guys, recently I was summoned to serve jury duty, when the date came up I called the number and was told that I didn't have to come in SWEET right?

Well a week goes by and today I was summoned AGAIN. The date is at the end of March but what gives?

Is this normal? Has this happened to anyone else?

just go to it.. if you work, your job should pay you anyways i think, mine did . and i got paid for jury duty

ive never worked at a place that payed for jury duty. it would be much better if they did

Bros its not a matter if i'm going or not, if they need me i'll go.

But wtf they sent me another one within a week of me calling in for my last one.

I am 20 now and still havent been summoned. I think it would be cool to be in a sick prolonged case with a hot middle aged lady and a chainsaw as a weapon or something.

I got summoned last month. Showed up and sat around for about 5 hours just to not get picked. Fuck it, I didn't care...It was actually the day after I came back from Japan. It sucked. At least I'm clear of jury duty for the next two years!

But yeah they can summon you again immediately if they told you to not come in once before. I know here in Vegas, when you call the number they actually state that on the pre-recorded message. But I wouldn't put it past other cities to completely leave out that little detail.

Good luck man! Bring an MP3 player and just make the best of it.

if they try to " prosecute " say you live in a blah blah area and never got the mail which doesn't mean your breaking a law.

I missed mine on accident because I got the dates mixed up and I called my cousin (LEO) and he told me to use that line if anything comes up.

I had jury duty a couple of years ago. It was sweet, it was 9am to 4pm with a long lunch break, inside in the a/c(it was the middle of summer), and I got paid like $50 a day. It was better than going to my job, which was outside all day, longer hours, and paid the same.

the racist one works. or depending on wat the case is say you hate those type of people. say ur house got robbed before so u hate theives or u got beat up when u were younger so u hate people who do assalt or whatever

Just go there dressed like a slob. You don't have to lie or even say anything really, they won't pick you if you look like a stoner/slacker/etc.

In Cali I think if you aren't summoned on your jury date they can summon you up to like a month after. I had to do the exact same thing.

if you didn't get served with the notice then it never happened
or wear an offensive t-shirt when you go in

I hate jury duty, my job doesn't pay me for it
and city pays like $20 or so
someone told me this was
the reason many people didn't vote before
since that was were they picked jurors from
now I hear they get your info when you register your car with DMV
