Exhaust hanging too low?

I just installed my reinhard exhaust yesterday and its hanging lower than the diff. So did i install it wrong. Everything is in the place where the original exhuast was. So i didnt misplace anything.

So do i have to modify the hangers so that it will sit flush under the car?

Has anyone else had this problem before?

i had this problem with my hks hipower, all i did was took a few worm clamps aka hose clamps and put them around the rubber hanger bushings and tightened them down, which raised the exhaust up a little bit. I'd give that a try before you actually commit to cutting up the hangers and modifying them.

^ I did the same with my exhaust. The most simple fix.

I was amazed at how much better my exhaust fit when I replaced the bushings. Not only did it raise it up. It also centered it better in the tunnel.

I got poly Circuit Sports one for my Nur Spec; cheap and worth the purchase. No more bouncy exhaust and pulled the system up some

Replaced the bushings and it raised it about a half a inch, maybe a inch. Still too low though. Looks like i will have to get the hangers cut shorter. Ill post some pics of it tmrrw.

Zip tie the exhaust up to the underbody of the car

My buddy club spec II is literally touching the gas tank and sway bar on my s13--maximum ground clearance, but you don't have to tell anybody you ziptied your exhaust to your car

I had my exhaust drag for about 100 mile when driving back from mineral wells TX (exhaust bolts fell out and had to be at work in 5 hours)
pretty much drug it home untill i had to yank it off and make it fit in the hatch with 10 other tires lol....that was a bad day

so just took a 3 in pipe cut it in half conformed it to the flat spot and welded it on

Still holden up and probably will look into replacing the hanger bushings too

Your car is lowered.
Deal with it.
Stop buying expensive exhaust.
Just get mufflers and have them change the actual pipe as it gets worn through.
Thats how i do it.
Bout every 6-10 months.
Its just part of the game.

You can't argue with results...

I'm full low on stance gr+ and I don't scrape anywhere except my driveway and other terrible places.

The zip ties stay on...heat of plastic melting is too high.

The heat of the pipe out by the gas tank has been cooled greatly to the point where gasoline will not ignite upon touching it.

My gas tank doesn't leak so there's no danger of igniting the gasoline, and if my exhaust were dragging low, a leaking gas tank would be a danger anyways.

It's been like this for almost 6 months now, and the only problems I've had were zip ties breaking... and all you gotta do is replace them.

Now I understand this kind of driveway quickfix isn't for everybody, all I'm saying is that I'm perfectly happy with hugging my exhaust up to the underbody of my car with black plastic zip ties.

I beg to differ This happend to a guy i knew in Okianwa at Nago

his rear end ran up on the mountain side a little bit when drifting and exhaust hanger punctured his gas tank then the exhaust ignighted the fuel causing this

Luckly he and the passenger made it out in time
