It's almost impossible to fix. I have 3 speedometer units that don't work. Some people got lucky with replacing a resitor.
I have a set in working condition for s13 DOHC. Let me know if anyone interested. I tested and have pics and videos to prove. |

Sorry it was a capacitor, not registor. You should give it a shot and see if it fixes or not. I've learned that new capacitor won't fix 100% of the time, so good luck.

I tried that and I wanted to pull my hair out. I have hear of the resistor trick but I've switched over to analog and don't want the hassle.
BUT I had an idea, get a defi gauge or something and take the speedo out completely. maybe integrate a boost controller or something. I'm no where near that point yet, so I have plenty of time to polish the idea ![]() |

Ive tried replacing capacitors on 2 different hud clusters to no avail. They would also not light up and flicker. Figured it was a diode on the back circuit board that wasnt working correctly. Im now on my third cluster and Im going to try changing the capacitor again. If that doesnt work I may just go with a custom set up.
