s13 digital cluster

HOw the hell do i fix the speedometer it wont turn on can anyone help me out?

It's almost impossible to fix. I have 3 speedometer units that don't work. Some people got lucky with replacing a resitor.

I have a set in working condition for s13 DOHC. Let me know if anyone interested. I tested and have pics and videos to prove.

Sorry it was a capacitor, not registor. You should give it a shot and see if it fixes or not. I've learned that new capacitor won't fix 100% of the time, so good luck.

I tried that and I wanted to pull my hair out. I have hear of the resistor trick but I've switched over to analog and don't want the hassle.
BUT
I had an idea, get a defi gauge or something and take the speedo out completely. maybe integrate a boost controller or something. I'm no where near that point yet, so I have plenty of time to polish the idea

anyone ever think that maybe the lcd burnt out, i mean seriously, that thing has tons of resistors and capacitors. how did you pinpoint that one as the problem

these things have been going to shit for the last 15 years. it's never a burned out lcd.

tried the capacitor fix on mine. Tried it with actually 2 different ones that they listed to use. Still no luck.

Ive tried replacing capacitors on 2 different hud clusters to no avail. They would also not light up and flicker. Figured it was a diode on the back circuit board that wasnt working correctly. Im now on my third cluster and Im going to try changing the capacitor again. If that doesnt work I may just go with a custom set up.
