Diff problem

K so i have been having a problem with the rear end acting really weird on my s13. When i gave my car gas, one tire would spin, and the whole rear end would seem to shift to the right a little. I had pretty much traction cuz the one tire would spin really easy, even though i have a clutch type LSD.

So i lifted up my car and found that the left side axle shaft had somehow popped right out of the differential. I have never heard of this happening before, and as far as i know, the axle should not be able to just pop out. Non of my suspension arms look bent, and no bolts look loos.

Im not sure, but it doesnt seem to me like having only one axle working would cause the whole car to shift over, or that much loss in traction, so i'm wondering if maybe their is something else wrong that i cant see. I did hit a curb taking a corner a while ago at maybe 10miles and hour, but i dont think that that could cause the axle to pop out without bending tonns of suspension arms. So what do you guys think it is? what should i be checking?
