Just buy a Tomei 2.2 crate motor for that much. THe weight of an RB26 isn't worth the extra power for only RWD. 4WD is different. JGTC supras use a 2 litre 3SGTE in place of a 2JZ, there's a reason for that...

wow, surprised this guy didnt get flamed to death for his name alone. but anyways, yea any type of swap, let alone an RB26dett is gonna be quite costly. it's not just a matter of buying the engine and having everything be peachy. but if you want more info, i just reccomend to try using the search button...im positive that this has been covered before.
also, i think www.240sxforums.net has some forums dedicated to the RB motors, so you might wanna check there...not too sure about content though as they dont interest me too much.

oh, and like dousan said, find the caps lock key please.

The reason for the ridicule is really a matter of netiquette. Typing in all caps, in addition to being difficult to read, is considered yelling (trying to gain more attention). Although it may have it's place, asking a forum question isn't one of them. In addition, your question is broad and indicates you haven't put a great deal of work into the search yourself. Folks around here get flustered when new people come by asking questions, expecting we have done all of the work and they can reap the benefits. Had you searched, read what had already been discussed, and asked for clarification you would have gotten an answer or an "I dunno" rather than attitude. I'll be the first to admit that zilvia.net has too much newbie bashing going on, but in some cases it's warranted :P

RB26DETT installation has already been covered to an extent on these forums (and likely moreso at Fresh Alloy). A basic search would tell you a few of the major problems (steering column interferes with the turbo placement, difficulties in wirirng and mounting, etc). It is possible, but will not be cheap --no motor swap is. You can probably get away with less thank ten grand invested, but it would be a challenge.

People don't get shot for daring to be different, they get shot for being rude about it.

<edit> Completely forgot the transmission issues, rb26detts come with AWD trannies. Good luck getting that into a 240 :P Gotta get an RB25 tranny or get creative (and expensive)

ctguy and misnomer, i apologize if my reaction to the ridicule was improper, now that u have given me a reason for it i see what you are getting at, as for the research into the rb26 swap u are correct i have not done much research because i figured who are thew best people to ask but the ones who have done it, i did find out on my own about the trans situation which is making think of going for the rb25 motor and the rear wheel tranny instead of tracking down an rb26dett swap and then having to buy the gt-s transmission. now with the situation with the steering column and the turbo interfereing does that only apply to the rb26, and is it because of the twin turbines, i am going to go research it now but u guys are a great help. thanx and sorry for being an a@#
