hey guys i went to Steveshadows to have him tune my car but i had problems with the power FC..we chose to run the car on the dyno with the JWT tune n i had MASSIVE knockage (lol made that up) @ 15psi. so we lowered it to 11.5 and made 315whp on a dyno dynamics dyno...WTF?! what is 18psi with his tune going to net me?! we shall see once i get shit sorted out!!
! The timing was a little off and he adjusted it accordingly. I cant wait to get my hands on a power fc that will work and see the magic!!!! +1 for steve!! after he put played with it 11psi felt stronger than 15psi muahaha

^^thats where i came to the conclusin that its an s15 turbo.. the difference i saw is that after it says m24 the s15 has 1-1 and the gt2871r has 1-2. are they all like that or is it possible for the gt2871r to have the 1-1?

Has any of you ever heard of a situation where you raise the boost but dont see any measurbale increase in power? i know these turbos are good for up to 21psi but after 13psi there was no increase.
I'm currently trying to find a boost leak some where. perhaps i should find someone to do a leak down test?

^^^ If you are talking about s15 turbo's after about 13 -15 psi is pretty much efficiency range, anything over is minimal and hurting the turbo period.
On a gt2871R, I have definitely measureable different when settings are changed. Its your tune if it doesn't change. Contact steveshadows and I promise you at 17psi you will shit in your pants.

yeah its on a 2871r. steve tuned the car and i must say it's WAY better than the JWT tune. the power band is smoother and it's crazy how it might not "feel" as "fast" it is in fact faster.
He had the car putting out 326whp on a DD dyno at 12psi but for some reason after he would raise the boost no power gains were seen. this is something that we were all stumped about and he has some ides on what i could be and is helping me figure it out. i just want to get some opinions of what you guys might think it could be. i'm sure its mechanical and not the tune...i've been searching my ass off and cant find anything!

yeah he checked and double checked. he said its right where it needs to be.
the fact that the motor has been rebuilt and the compression is slightly higher due to a slight shave and stock size HG wouldnt cause this would it?!

^^ cool im not the only one!! lol jk.
well yesterday after looking over things i found that the bolts on the turbine housing group had backed out...i found 2 so far but i could only fix one because i need a longer wrench. i dont really want to pull the manifold off but if i need to then so be it. does anyone know if this makes a difference? like gasses escape at high boost or something?

Really? I definitely feel a difference between 14 and 17 becase I run a profec e01, mine can be switched on the fly or automatically based on speed, its definitely noticeable. You guys are forgetting CAMS and also Intake chambers would make a huge difference. CAMS can only make power in a certain range, CAMS can only do so much for power because there IS a sweet spot for CAMS for power range. Same with the stock intake manifolds and runners. YOu can easily max out the chamber s and just can't flow any more.... I believe this is the biggest affect....

hmmm...well im running HKS 256/264's and the rest is pretty much stock...this is killing me! lol i should be able to put down way more according to what everyone is putting down. could the fact that it doesnt show an increase in power as i raise the PSI be a vacuum or boost leak that doesnt show until under such pressure?
also, does everyone elses FPR make a sound? its almost like i can hear air leaking or something but cant find ANYTHING
