Don't put a non abs drive shaft on a abs diff. On stock the balance of the center carrier is going to be thrown off.

DSS is different, single piece and btw I have a DSS and it doesn't seat all the way in. ABS drive shaft on ABS diff, but is perfectly covered by my dust ring.

100% correct. That is normal, what isnt normal is if its flush without the dust collar.

I removed my dust collar, couldnt get the 1pc on with it attached.

OP you have the correct setup, no worries
