Opinion on my setup before i order.

I have a 93' coupe on stock struts and springs with 186k on them.
They are blown, and i bounce all over the place. time for a change!
I don't have a whole lot of budget, so i'm going not the cheapest,
but the best bang for my buck setup. I'm not necesarily going for
a race proven setup or the nicest. but i want something thats
better than what i have now, and to give a better stance.
I have done research on both products and am happy with results.
would like your opinion though!

So i'm ordering:

KYB GR-2 F&R shocks and struts $174.52
Tenzo GF2 F&R 1.8" Lowering Springs $115.99

Thanks, Jomar.

I've read that these kyb's are a nice change over stock, which is perfect for me. and the reviews on tenzo's are they ride alot like if not on par with eibach sportlines, if i can shell out a few more bucks ill gladly go with eibach, they drop it 2". but i think for now, just daily driving in the city i'll be fine with setup. thanks for the input though.

nope

GR-2's are OEM replacements. Put lowering springs on them and you'll be right back here all too soon.

Save this post so you won't need to type it again, just copy and paste it.

Pick up some used coilovers or something to old you over until you can get a proper set up.

I don't need a really nice setup, my main goal is lower the car and have better shocks then what i have now. which are blown origional ones, like i mentioned i'll probably only be driving in town.

You're not getting his point. Using those GRs with the lowering springs will lead to blown struts all over again. They're stock replacement.

if u want to run lowering springs and have struts that will last you will have to get struts designed for lowering springs. Kyb agx will work and tokico's will be your best bet.

Oh i had no idea they were different, okay so what are the cheapest struts for lowering springs?

what about the people who run lowering springs on stock struts, how does that work? or doesn't it

pretty much dont buy oem replacements. you'll need performance orientened shocks otherwise you will end up replacing the oem replacement shocks early.

kyb agx are good for the money. koni yellows if you have the money.

Would godspeed type-ss coilovers be better?

because eibachs and kyb agx are almost $700
and the godspeed coils are only $600 shipped

like we already said. KYB GR-2's ARNT DESIGNED FOR LOWERING SPRINGS.Yeah they will fit and be better then your blown struts but they wont last as long as if you bought struts designed for lowering springs. You would end up wasting money buying another set.

Because you are compressing the shock past the point of where it would nornally go causing it to blow out. Not having money is not an excuse,if you don't have the cash then drive on the blown out shocks until you have enough to do it right.

so what would be the best route to go? i basically want to lower my car to get rid of the gap, but i would like the feel of a stock ride also.

what would be the best bang for my buck setup? with that in mind ^^^

listen to this guy. he speaks words of wisdom. if you dont have the money, then run some stockers until you have enough to buy a decent set of coilovers. until then, get stock suspension or deal with it

everyone is repeating themselves. i dont think this kid wants to listen or just doesnt wanna accept his fate.

try a search engine and look for alternatives they are out there. find a part out car and take their suspension. then save until u get more than 200 bucks to spend and then ask for opinions on suspension.

this hobby aint cheap my friend.

Fuck it, he's hell bent on lowering the car on a shitty springs and struts setup so let him. Buy that shit, slap it on, blow it out, kill it with fire.

IMHO, unless you find some short stroke struts to accommodate the lowering springs then don't even bother. If you have to ask why then you sure as hell didn't search hard enough.

people sell megan coilovers on here for 500 somtimes, i would wait for a deal like that rather then spend 350 on some lowering springs and shocks.. it is sooooo worth a little extra to be able to set your cars stance, trust me bro

You don't a setup that is low and feels like stock, but it has to be cheap.

I want Scarlett Johanssen. In the black widow costume. With Sienna Miller. In the baroness gear.

If you don't have money then why the fuck are you modifying your car? Grow the fuck up and buy stock suspension until you have enough money to do it right.

GR-2s suck balls. Get the adjustable KYB AGXs and get Megan Racing Springs instead of the Tenzos. I had this combo on my 240 and was very impressed. Excellent feel, very controllable and predictable, good weight transfer, great for learning on.

im not even saying i want to buy the cheapest shit, im asking what would you recommend. my budget is $400, the only reason i'm saying i don't need all that sport suspension shit is because everything you guys recommend is over my budget.
