Question Clip or motorset?

i'm new to the forums and i'm aware of the lil red search button, but i never really found what i was looking for :/. in ya'lls opinion, which would be better to buy if i want to save money?..a s13 sr20det front clip or just the motorset and buy the ecu/harness/etc. separately? (PS. i'm going to do the swap myself) Also, i've been reading a bunch of posts about how www.flashoptions.com was giving everyone bad experiences..i was wondering if this was still going on or what not. I've found a shop here in Virginia, JGY Customs, which seems to look pretty good with all of their policies/warranties..looks good to me cuz of no shipping charges :P. Help me out a little bit please.

dont buy from flashoptions

and buy a clip whereever you buy from. clip is the way to go. safest and most secure and you can sell the remainging to suckers and dweebs doing the RHD conversion for that jdm tyte look.

Clip is good if you don't really know what you are doing because you just move everything from one to the other.

Motorset is good if you dont have the space or means to dispose of a clip. It's also usually cheaper because you dont have to pay for more shipping and tax, just to get parts you will likely replace anyway (stock radiator, downpipe, intercooler suck). But you need to know what parts the motor does or doesnt have, and be savy enough to not buy a motorset that doesn't have parts you think it has.

Incomplete motorsets are fine as long as you understand you will need to get the parts from ebay or somewhere and pay an appropriate price, but you need to be familiar with all the parts.

Since you mentioned having a shop do it, you may as well save the money and find a motorset (preferably with ALL the parts you need). Then again, you should verify that this shop has done the swap, unless you don't mind being a guinea pig :P

Here is some stuff I've seen come w/ clips.

Full coilovers
HKS intake pipes
Pillow Ball
Brake master cylinder stopper
Engine dampener
BOV
upgraded MAFS
Bigger brakes
aftermarket intercoolers, hotpipes, coldpipes

I would stay away from a clip w/ too many goodies on it....you know what the guy was doing to have crashed it. BUT...it's nice to get silvia brakes, aftermarket BOV, etc. with a clip.
