1994 S13 Vert Build...

Okay, so my wife and I now are the proud owners of a new car

YEAR: 1994
MAKE: Nissan
MODEL: 240sx Convertible
ENGINE: KA24DE
TRANSMISSION: Auto (all verts are auto, but will be taking 5 speed from the coupe)
MILEAGE: 160XXX
TITLE: Clean
CONDITION: Getting better Not bad though, needs some rust repair, but frame is AWESOME.
CURRENT MODS: 2" lowering springs, KYB GR2 shocks, AEM intake, aftermarket muffler welded to stock piping
COST: Blown SR and transmission

DAY 1 (Keep In Mind This Is After "Cleaning" It Some):

here is a list of what I did to it the day after we got it (Day 2):

- HKS Legal Catback Exhaust (super quiet, even w/ 3.25" piping and a 4" tip)
- R34 GTR Seats
- Redline Goods Ebrake and Console Covers
- Cusco Carbon Fiber Strut Bar
- Sony CD Player
- Origin Taillights
- New Steering Wheel
- 240sx Floor Mats
- Coupe Sunvisors
- Optima Yellow Top Battery
- A Bunch of Those Fancy Fender Bolts Under The Hood
- Sticker Removal
- Drift Style Rear Window Repair

Stickers Removed:

REAR WINDOW MAYHEM (This window was f***ed so I tried to make it drift style awesome... )

Interior View of Repair:

PLEASE BE GENTLE I have no urge to fix this top as I will only be driving this car when it is nice anyways....

Okay so here is what got done today:

- 5 Lug (Front and most of the passenger side rear)
- Z32 Brakes, stainless braided lines, drilled/slotted rotors (Front)
- Kei Office Coilovers (Front)
- Nismo LMGT 4 Wheels mounted w/ Rays Lugnuts (Front)
- Added HKS Air Filter in place of AEM and took off AEM Sticker
- Found a convertible boot and bought it should be here next week (hopefully)

PICS:

Sits pretty flush, needs to be a little lower and I need to take out some camber, but fit pretty good.

Another engine pic

DAY 3:
- Rear 5 Lug On
- Nismo LMGT4 Wheels On
- Brakes bled
- Rear coilovers ordered as one of the rear collars on the Kei Office coilovers is seized and will not budge

PICS:

DAY 4:
Okay, so today I put some 6.5" sony 4 way speakers upfront to take care of the blown stock speakers
put in my leather wrapped glove box to match the redline goods console cover/ebrake cover and eventually shift boot.
Also modified my stock belt buckles to fit the skyline seats.

So, alot has changed since my last update:

Rear coilovers are on...
Rear Fenders Rolled...
Sideskirts Painted...

BEFORE:

AFTER:

Now, for today:
- I got the rear all buttoned up.
- Front coilovers on, and partially rolled the fenders. Still need to relocate wiring harnesses
- Sideskirts and rear valances hung (not greatly but they are on there)

To Do:
- Still need to put the front lip on too, and possibly lower the front a smidgen more...

PICS:

Got the front lip put on but had some trouble w/ the other sideskirt/rear valance, so still working on that... but I think this thing is awesome... It will be hard as hell to drive around here (NY, out in the sticks) but it looks killer....

PICS:

A few more pics...

Radiator Cooling Panel

I now have to tear the front end apart, and get the silvia front put on along w/ a few other things, but that could take a while

Alright, so I got the silvia front end on the vert, and fixed/reran/rerouted my wiring...

front bumper is yet to be painted, and the fenders need LOTS of body work, but I like it....

Looks good man

But not so sure about the center grill looks bulky .... Maybe a GTR style might look better?

Ah reppin' the verts hard man. Sick setup/stance although I do agree that grill is kind of bulky, a gtr should clear that right up =P

as for the grille, I hadn't seen anyone rockin' this style too much so I figured I'd give it a go, it might look better when the whole car gets paint. If not I already have a gtr style one on a shelf in the garage...

hopefully lookin to swap to 5 speed in the next month or so, I have all the parts from the coupe, so that should be fun
also hope to put on the coupe doors...

boring/tacky/who cares. but that said....

tip: that top is the same as the m30 vert, which i used to have. i bought a brand new top installed for like $350. i could have gotten just the rear window for 99 installed. plus tax of course. but the top was all floppity too. you may just need a window. go to an upholstery shop and get it done. do it right. please.

i DO like that HKS exhaust. nice and refined. have a sound clip?

no sound clip currently, it's really quiet though...

as for the top, I don't care, if I drive it, it isn't raining, and I really don't want to fix it. Thanks for the advice though.

and no this is not my daily, I do drive it daily when I can, but I've have it torn apart a lot since I bought it...

Okay, so I've been prepping the SR and rebuilding it... here it is so far:

Apexi Headgasket (you can see the tag sticking out)
ARP Headstuds & Exhaust manifold studs
Nismo Motor Mounts
Moroso Oil Pan
Stainless Steel Exhaust Manifold
Garrett GT28RS Turbo
Split Fire Coil Packs
Custom Painted Pulleys and Valve Cover
Carbon Fiber Cover

Also today, I dropped off the door panels and rear seats down to Fly Boyz Custom Upholstery to have them covered in fabric to match the R34 Seats.

Next I plan on taking the front end of the vert off along w/ the doors to make way for the coupe doors (pillarless), along w/ some cleaning up of the fenderwells, and then hopefully prepping the car for the manual swap, and possibly the engine swap (not sure if I want to attempt this before winter, as I would like to take this car to DROPTOBERFEST in Nanticoke, PA on October 17th)

Clean that alternator! Looks like garbage next to that squeaky clean engine - which looks bomb btw. CTNewman put the idea in my head that the alternator should be done too, so I gave mine about an hour (took it apart, wire wheeled it, painted the center black, clear coated the front and back housings), and it came out great ~

Project is coming along nicelyyyyyyyy.
