It reduces the oil pressure to below 15psi or something like that. Basically it keeps your turbo seals happy.

Whether you need an oil restrictor will depend on what turbo you're planning on running. Read what everybody has said, if you're running a ball bearing turbo (Any Garrett GT series turbo) then you'll need a restrictor.

To make it simple, if you need to run waterlines with turbo you have (other than OEM turbo), you'll need a restrictor.

I have an ss auto chrome t3t4 turbo that I used on my Probe when it was boosted. Its not ball bearing and the Probe never had one. So I'm thinking I should be ok. Or no I should still get it? I know its only 5 bucks but its getting all the parts installed now so is it somthing I could get later?

Look dude what were telling you isnt just somthings we hear on the internet, we've been there done that, were telling you how to do this upgrade properly.

If you wanna not spend 5 bucks on a part that will save you from blowing the seal out of your turbo and having to spend another$700 on a new CHRA then go for it.

Ball bearing Turbo's reqire less oil than a Journal bearing turbo which might be one reason why your probes turbo hasnt blown yet.

YOU NEED THE GOD DAMN RESTRICTOR IF YOU WANT YOUR TUBO TO LAST!

Over a certian amount of Oil perssure many companys recommend runing a restrictor

Ive never delt with SSAC so i would advise contacting them and asking what size restrictor you should run

There are SPECIFICS involved depending on the BRAND, and STYLE of the turbo. CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER FOR THE LOVE OF GOD

Also, fix your spelling please... It burns my eyes =(

As I've posted about 10 times throughout the past couple years, some people with journal-bearing turbos don't run restrictors if they use -3an line, but the "accepted"/"safe" size is 1/32" (.064") for journal bearing, and 1/64" (.032") for ball bearing.
