yeah... common sense and a basic comprehension of math and/or basic physics would have worked wonders here. It's not the diameter of the wheel that necessarily puts you at a disadvantage, but the width and offset. a 7" front isn't adequate for a good "stretch" and 8" is only marginally better. For flush you'd need more spacing than it's worth. Just enjoy what you've got until you can get something better I guess and try to keep from starting threads like this when the answer is readily available if you use your head.
