Well since your a computer idiot i would say get a mac since you won't have any problems messing it up software wise =]
If you do go with mac buy it refurbished its same exact thing as new but a couple hundred bucks off

Reread his original post, he wants a HDMI port. AFAIK, Macbooks don't have this.

They don't, they require an extra $19 dongle.
