If you drive a 240 and care, you are sadly mistaken.

This one time I spent all day re-glassing my bumper and painting it. I put it on my car and promptly destroyed it as I left my driveway. I got out my car and kicked a hole it it. True story. Days later, I bougt a Navan bumper. Put a hole in that too.

This is what the Corvette guys do, since Vettes have little frame rails up there.



I've thought about how to do it for 240's, using a tubular bash bar/bumper support and triangulating the wheel supports around intercooler piping, but to be honest I don't want to bend my frame up there in front of the strut towers. I don't know how well it would work.
