Anyone use an IHI Turbocharger??????

I recently got one for free, and was wondering if anyone has ever used one before. Specs sound pretty good for my RB25DET.

This is off a 6.5L GM Diesel and is supposed to be good for 350-400hp.

Spec's on the Turbo are :

Brand: Borgwarner / IHI
Model: 51T-32
Size: T3/T04E
Compressor A/R: 0.7
Compressor trim: 46
Turbine A/R: 0.6
Turbine trim: stage II
Flange type: standard T3

The price is great, and by the specs it should make a great street turbo.

The turbo cannot be both Borg Warner and IHI, they are two totally different companies. I believe the GM 6.5L diesel turbo is a "GM4" which is made by Borg Warner. Consider yourself lucky you don't have an IHI.

There are better turbos for your specific application but free is always awesome.

EDIT: I was half correct and half wrong. The model is a GM4 but it is manufactured by IHI.

YEP, it is. I am rebuilding it now and will see what happens. I am only shooting for around 300 to 350 at the wheels and think it is possible with this turbo, but not sure. If not I will end up getting a HOLSET H1C or HX35.

Thanks

Ram

They used to, but don't anymore. The RX6 series of turbo's that Power Enterprise was selling are amazing, but after spending months trying to track one down I eventually was told that IHI no longer makes them, and has no plans to do so in the near future.
