Coilover Strut loose?

Last night I finally installed my PBM coils. I went to take the car for a spin, and I hear this really loud metal on metal tapping noise. I had my friend continue to drive the car (only about 35mph max) as I sat in the back to see what was happening.

On the passenger side rear coilover, it seems that everything is tight. The strut is moving up and down with play. Its like while he was driving the car, I literally felt the the middle piece of the top mount (not the top mount, the actual piece connected to the strut) moving up and down each time the noise was made.

Any idea's how to fix it?

excellent. I'm having a similar problem, and since it pertains to your question I will ask it here. When you're tightening said pillow ball mount nut, you use spanners to hold the top of the strut in place so it does not simply rotate the whole thing when tightening. However, my driver's side strut simply rotates when trying to tighten even though my spanner is holding the top most adjusting bracket in place. The whole half of the strut is rotating independent of the "top spanner adjustment bracket collar thing." Is this normal or are my Stances borked?
