my engine is making this ticking sound and i wanna know what it is. i do not know much so i dont want to replace the wrong part or make the problem worse. it still drives, though.

a noise you say? need more info, i would recommend going to a local mechanic

my 97 240 did the same thing ticking at idle and got louder through out the power band. some guys told me maybe i broke or bent something in the valves or a lifter. or just spun a bearing and becoming a rod knock. my ka has 143k miles. i just decided to go with a sr swap.
