C5 corvette z06 motor...?

ok, so don't ask how, but i may be able to find a C5 z06 motor with a cracked cylinder wall for under 1k. other than that the motor is pristine, all rods, pistons, heads, manifolds, etc.

i figure all i need is a new block.

all that aside, will it fit in my s13 coupe? price used to be a concern, but i figure the car is no my daily, and i don't care if it takes me a year to do it. so unless it's gonna be some STAGGERING amount of money to get it in the car i'm not TOO concerned about it.

are there any mount kits that will fit this motor? i see people with chevy V8's so i don't know if maybe there is one that will work, or that i can modify to work. again, the car is not a daily so if i have to do a lot of work i will. (as long as conditions permit)

please no flaming or "why not just buy an RB/SR/2J" instead just answer the question... if the answer is "no," then i WILL look at a different motor. but i mean under a G for this motor is too good to pass up if it will fit.

i've googled and found some light info (mostly pics and vids) but while i'm researching i'd still like your guys' opinions!

http://www.silviav8.com all your questions will be answered.

Yes it will fit, I make a mount kit (find me on silviav8) and there are a bunch of people on that site including myself that are doing LSx swaps in s13/14. Its probably going to cost you a few grand after the engine/trans.

I've also been thinking about doing a GM gen3/4 v8 swap. There's a lot of possibilities you could go with.

Conversion kits:
Otto
Sikky
hinson
daft
custom

There's others that I probably forgot about, but those are the ones that pop out to me. Some of the aboved mentioned will even offer wiring services.

As for the motor, you could really use almost any of the L series engines including the truck vortec motors. I'm personally thinking about going with a LQ4. The truck motors are usually cheaper and just as or if not more plentiful. Using truck motors you might have to convert a few of the accessories and other things to F-body components.

Most people run the T56 6spd transmission from F-Body camaros and trans ams, I dont think the transmissions from GTOs and Vettes will work. There's also a few others transmissions that will work, I just can't remember atm.

You will also have to reflash the ecu. I think they have an antitheft system which you have to remove, and depending on which motor you're running you'll have to get the proper tune. I think the ideal ECU people use is the F-Body ecu.

Like Otto said above, surf the silviaV8 site and you should be able to pick up a lot of info.

It's basically just a higher output LS1.
