Legendary. I have met you, not directly at Bings meet and now I wonder which car you will be bringing this year?

Please compare to the Lotus and maybe even the Subaru, which I contemplating buying awhile back.

It definitely doesn't handle as well as the lotus... the bmw will push way before the lotus ever will, what do you expect with a 700lb rb up front... but it handles relatively well, it's not heavy, but it's weightier than the lotus...

In a straight line, the lotus, (which at 230whp and 2050lbs is no slouch) is a bicycle compared to the bimmer. My sti was pretty fast at 400-450 whp, but it also weighed 3500 lbs...

The BMW is def the fastest car I have ever driven, and top 3 fastest cars i've ever been in... (been to long to say what was #1, but the other two are my buddy's methanal, gutted, 35r 2.5rs or a 500whp civic hatch)

I don't think the BMW will ever handle as well as the lotus, and I don't think the lotus will ever be as fast as the bmw, but they're both pretty good in their non-dominating category... so i have the best of both worlds...

Like the other guy asked what sort of cost we looking at here. I always wanted to do this and plan on it but I must finish school and have a house to store the car. Spread it out over 3-5 years on the build and the cost should be bearable.

you should get the bmw weighed see what kinda numbers it pulls

im guessing it should be around the 2700lb range.

lol I guess every forum has their assholes some of those people hate the idea you stepped it up a notch by going 5 lug. I guess lotus isnt really considered a jdm car in their standards. I would love to see a nice fatty lip and some neg camber on that car. VIP

mad funny, saw your thread on that car show and found this car. Probably one of the nicest/funniest car builds i have seen. I wish i have the access to some of the equipment that you do. My friend buys and sells E30s and i work on them all the time. With the stock engine those things are DOGS. we swapped a twin turbo LS1 into one and gave its like 600whp and its was RIDICULOUS. anyways. nice car and mad funny thread on the car show.

BTW my shop, just moved in still waiting for the lift.

With a stock block and 243 or 5.3L heads, mild cam, on 6-8psi, that's about all you can do without blowing the piston lands. Very popular hp target, and even in a 3500lb f body, that's good for high 9's or low 10's.
