They probably don't even do that. They probably only had one casting. A casting with the lowest offset. Then just milled it down.

You can only mill down so much due to the depth of the lugnut holes. I'm sure they use at least 2 different molds.

Or they drill the lugnut holes after they mill down the mounting face.

Sometimes a different offset mold is cheaper than machine work time. That's what we do for our wheels at least. Time on the machine is more expensive that just having a different mold for the backpad.
