Ignition Timing Discussion

I know base timing stock on a s14 SR20DET is 15 degrees but my friend advised me to set at 10 degrees. I'm just interested in knowing what the difference is, I trust his judgement but im basically all stock with a fuel controller (safc neo) and around 10 lbs of boost. standard sr swap things such as exhaust manifold, and downpipe back exhaust is 3 inch, fmic, ras, 255 fuel pump, and my spark plugs are gapped to .030. Car runs great but just wanting to hear the facts/debate over this considering its easy enough to adjust the timing on this motor lol.

Bump plus update, I changed my timing back to 15 degrees advance and the car has a slight difference in torque around the mid rpm range. The car seems sluggish below 3k rpms with full boost, just wondering if it's just my car or all early s14 sr's. Just making sure I'm getting the best performance and I don't have a dudding turbo. I do have a unknown hks actulator and I have been playing with my wastegate crack settings, it's at 10lb for the spring but haven't had much road to check it lately. The car orgionally was set to boost 15 lbs but I'm mostly stock so I downed it to 10 lbs of boost max.

I have a flashed ecu so I know power could be off, considering soon to get a stock flash from ethalpy. Open for more suggestions as well, it's a fresh swap with a fuel controller to correct the ecu with too much fuel taken out(larger injectors).
