How hard should i have to pull this damn handle ( hydro ebrake)
Man i installed a cnc brakes hydraulic ebrake in my car, plus new rear rotors and hawk pads.
I have bled each side 50 plus times, problem is that i have to pull it with pretty much both hands to get it to lock while going in a straight line. Could it be the wheels? they are heavy work meisters 18 by 11 with bald 275s on the back? This is driving me crazy!!!! Help!!!

ABS still hooked up by any chance? Buddy of mine installed PBM kit and brakes wouldnt look up, it wa because the ABS was engaging preventing lock. His handle wasn't as hard as your saying yours is though.

no abs is long gone, i mean if i get the car side ways mid drift it will lock like its supposed to but say i want to do an high speed initiation, all it does is slow the car unless i let go of the wheel and pull it with both hands.
I have noticed if i put my foot on the regular brakes a little bit the ebrake locks way harder.

I barely have to touch mine. I should take a video. In a straight line I have to pull it kinda hard, but as an initiation I only use 2 fingers. 17x10 with 235s

well i just installed it, the way i see it this is not workinng properly, being that a stock cable ebrake will lock the tires at 80mph, i dont understand what the hell is wrong with this thing.

it stays up by itself, like i posted above if you give the footbrake a bit of pressure at the same time as pulling the ebrake, the handle gets hard and then locks fairly easyily.

My corolla was like this too. A friend suggested I install a proportioning valve. That was it, after that it worked fine. Haven't had one on a 240 though so I can't say for sure. The added capacity to the brake fluid is what messed mine up. Even my brakes were softer before I installed the valve.

well i figured a few things out and will be doing a custom wilwood setup, the cnc doesnt have the balls to lock up the rears with big tires at high speeds without working the front brake at low speeds <50mph it works great, but i want it for the high speed stuff.

Did you try to switch the lines on the brake itself (from bmc and to rear) They are probably backwards... There are two styles of cnc hydro brakes I have seen and they hook up backwards from each other.
Chances are they are backwards if you haven't tried swapping them it is worth a shot. Mine locks up my Nitto555 275 with my pinky finger at 60mph with ease. |

I'm having the same problem! I'm running a CNC E Brake with Brembo rear brakes. It shouldn't have any problem locking. I just bled my system, AGAIN.
Would playing with the adjust lock nut on the cylinder help possibly? I'm running 18x10.5 with a 255, straight line is damn near impossible to lock up, turning it'll chirp the tires but no serious lock. In order to get that chirp I had to push the lever HARD. I have an event Saturday I'd like to get this thing working... |

hmmm...
you shouldn't have to pull it very hard, i ran 18x11 weds kranzes with 275/35 toyo t1r's on them and entering a large turn in 4th maybe 160-170 and i would clutch in and yank it not very hard, no muscle effort at all really and im pretty skinny |

I didn't try locking it up with added pressure from the footbrake, though. I just came home from driving it and looked this up. I'll try that tommorow. Maybe it'll lock better on the 235's at the event

It's probably too large of a MC or too low of a lever ratio so you can't generate enough force with your hand to lock up the rear wheels. A smaller MC or a higher lever ratio will trade more travel on the lever for more brake line pressure.

kinda bump from the dead but i've just installed a cnc and a pbm hydro setup (on different cars) both of these have the same problems like listed, hey both dont seem to help any, infact they take more effort then the factory handle. Did anyone resolve this issue? I'm planning to call pbm tomorrow and ask, so far it's a waste of time

I found same thing- hard to lock rear in a straight line.
however, with just a slight weight transfer to the front, it locks super easy. i have to give it a quick stab of foot brake before i pull the hand brake, but with that done, it locks just fine. ![]() |

i think it should work and you can get used to it after a time...but if you're putting a hydro ebrake in your car you're not going to drive like a daily mommy or? so get the abs out to have real fun

whats so difficult? get a non abs master in there and customize you pipes a bit, finish.
maybe won't look too nice if u do pipes first time but that should be all... google there're alot of diy's around how to remove abs ![]() |
