vg30de vs vg30dett transmission

is there a difference between the vg30de 5spd transmission and the vg30dett transmissions? i found a great deal on a de tranny and was looking to swap it into my s14. i have an sr20 making 475hp...if the det tranny is stronger will the de tranny take the power i have just fine?

also i should be able to use the clutch i have now right? the splines on the z32 transmissions should mate with my clutch and flywheel for an sr20 transmission right?

N/A and Turbo transmissions are mechanically the same.

If I remember correctly though, the Turbo transmission uses a larger flywheel than the N/A transmission. (330mm vs 300mm?)

So if you get an N/A transmission you need to use an N/A clutch and flywheel and visa versa.

i love that tranny i used to beat my z32 i didnt know you could use it AWESOME!!! sr trannies are weak

so mechanically they are very strong then...good because i found an N/A one for $150 just down the road from me.

other question i have is do i have to use the z32 clutch and flywheel? or am i able to keep my twin disk clutch and flywheel for the sr20 and use them on the vg30 tranny?

you have to get a new clutch made. call up the clutch company you are going with and tell them the tranny and motor you have and they will make one for you. not hard to do on their half. i am running a vg in my s13 with my sr and a comp stage 4 6puck. i love it. everyone thinks its a built trans. lol
