Gentlemen,

REMEMBER, THIS IS NOT A RACE!!!!

"This is not a speed contest. Getting caught violating the law caould get you disqualified"

THE SDZ32 is.....
An Adventure in Driving…

Welcome to San Diego Z32 Club’s 2010 Cannonball Rally

To win this Rally you will need to follow directions, be creative, have good communication skillswith your co-pilot, and have top notch driving skills. This Rally is a combination of many different popular Rally aspects and some of our own ideas all thrown into one. Although the title of this Rally has the words “Cannonball” in it; this doesn’t mean it’s going to be like the movies. The words Cannonball are more to pay homage to the movie and creation of the first modern American Rally, which have become very popular. So you won’t be driving cross-country or reaching triple digit speeds, but we are
hoping you have a lot of fun and the top three will be awarded cash prizes.

General Instructions:

Use Location Clues to arrive at each correct location and obtain the correct Location Proof.

Each Stage Checkpoint will give you two Location Clues and one Stage Checkpoint Clue.

How you find the location from the Location Clue is ALL UP TO YOU!!!
You must make it to a Stage Checkpoint in order to receive your next set of Location Clues.

Each Location Clue will help you to arrive at a known San Diego location.
You are welcome to take your time and enjoy each location, but time counts in this Rally too.

You must use a digital camera to prove you made it to the correct location; this will be known as your Location Proof (Cell phone cameras are OK).

You are responsible for providing a clear photograph of each Location Proof at the Finish Line.

A staff member at each Stage Checkpoint can help check your Location Proof.

It is up to you to continue or go back if your Location Proof is not correct.

Please note only the judge at the finish can officially verify your Location Proof as being correct.

Do not delete your Location Proof until after the finish and told to do so.
The route and order you follow is solely up to you.

The winner will be determined by total points.

The driver with the most points wins.

Some clues will be easy and some won’t. Prepare yourself!

How is check point rally for a purse prize not classified as racing? Of course people are going to speed because they want to win, and your doing it on public roads this is a fail.

On the contrary, the Cannon Ball Rally is a very successful event based on points (NOT SPEEDING) As expressed in the above information, if you are caught speeding or violating any traffic laws, you can be disqualified and at the very least is a point deduction. (And Yes, the event officials will most definitely know if you DO) These acts are absolutely not condoned and will not be tolerated.

Last year we had over 20 participants all in which did not violate any traffic laws and conducted themselves with the utmost courtesy on public roads and highways.

Winning is not based on how fast you negotiate the checkpoints, it is about amassing points. Points are achieved many different ways and the driver with the most points (1st, 2nd, and 3rd places) wins. The check points are also how you acquire points. Again, its not how fast you get there, its if you can find them. Last years winner took home over $150.00 and his over all time was not the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd fastest time.

I think you are misunderstanding the event. I invite you and anyone else interested to our SDZ32 Club meet next week on Wed Aug. 11th 6:30 -9:30 at Miramar Speed Circuit and we can explain more in detail of the event.

Also Please feel free to contact me directly as I'll be happy to explain more on how the event works. It would be really great to have the 240sx guys come out and represent. Hope you still have interest in attending or participating.

I haven't been in a poker run before but they had them in Okinawa, and I missed it due to work. It's not about the speed and If I was in still in SD i'd jump all over it. Yeap you should look into it more before you start speaking negative about it. If you knew any of the Z32 Members in SD or CPark you would know this event is legit. I would feel alot better doing an event with these guys, before a Zilvia/SDREV event.
