1) the S15 is a chassis that was engineered in the 1980s. have you driven a 350z/370z/G35/G37??? go test drive one and then youll understand the difference in 30 years of chassis engineering.

2) the s15 wouldnt pass current day safety or emission regulations (or come ANYWHERE near them). cars from the 1980s and 1990s are like driving in beer cans compared to the current day safety tanks we call cars. ive seen pics of crashed GTRs that hit walls doing 90+mph. the only thing totalled was the front end. not even the windshield broke.

3) the s15 WOULDNT SELL!!! kids, please understand that the S chassis is a niche car (there i said it). sorry but its the truth. the AVERAGE car buyer who goes to a dealership to pick up a car doesnt look for turbo or rear wheel drive or coupes. they go looking for "green", they look for gas milage, they look for horrendous warranties so they never have to pay out of pocket for shit that wouldnt go wrong with the car in the first place but theyre too ignorant to know any different. nissan isnt going to bring out a new car, let alone, bring back an OLD CAR just to sell a few thousand of a year for 20 grand. theyre going to bring out a new maxima, or suv, or altima or any other general people mover that is going to sell in the hundreds of thousands a year.

4) people dont want simple. people want LUXURY. you can thank BMW, Mercedes, Lexus and Cadillac for completely RUINING the idea of a "simple" car. cars today have so many microprocessors and electronic components in them to make them drive, handle, brake, turn and use gas better its astounding. people want their asses heated by heated seats. they want GPS navigation. they want satellite radio. they want a HUD to tell them the MPG theyre getting so they can brag to their middle age friends about how they got 42mpg on the freeway. they want ipod connetivity. they want bluetooth. gone are the days of having a simple HVAC unit, easily replaceable stereo, hydraulic power steering or even a direct wire throttle body. cars will NEVER be simple again. and thats because people dont want them that way. they want an entertainment unit on wheels that doesnt give ANY road feedback whatsoever.

guys, the S chassis more than likely isnt going to come back anytime soon im sorry to say. unless toyota starts moving FT86's in 2011 like crazy, dont count on nissan budging on their stance. before the economy tanked, YES THE CAR WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REDONE. but with current economic times, recall scares and people wanting nothing but hybrids, sports cars are going to way of the dinosaur. especially the traditional japanese turbo coupes we all love and cherish.

s15 silvia = a burried and forgotten corpse in the current day automotive world
