get mickey thompson ET street or ET street radials. They make them in both your sizes and are awesome tires.
I have a similar problem my old KA with tein flex and street tires 255/40-17 best 60' was 2.02. I see guys on KA-t getting 1.5-1.8 60' on ET street radials with no drag suspension.

^What S14freak said. Most coilovers for 240's are too stiff for good drag launches bc they are meant to cater to the drift crowd. In general for RWD drag vehicles, you want a soft rear spring with shocks that compress easily and have minimal rebound. For the front you'll want shocks/struts that have harder compression and softer rebound. This allows the back end to "squat down" and the front end to "stand up". The front setup helps to keep the back end down by making it harder for the front to settle, leaving the back pushed down longer. This is just one thing you can do. There are so many tricks to good launches and hooking up on a track. Best thing to do is check with local drag racers and shops. You'll learn a lot from them.

slapping on wider/better tires won't help. you need to tune your suspension. it's not hooking because the rear end is too stiff.
hit up mazworx's. they specialize in drag 240's. they are legit. |

I use cheap megan streets with 26x8.50x15 mt slicks and it does the job very well.

A lot of the Coilovers I've found for the S-Chassis seem to be way too stiff to get a halfway decent launch with.
Apparently Fortune auto has coils with a special option with revised dampening for Drag Racing now. I'd check those out. Also, a little bit of positive camber may help too. I believe S13's (and S14's are close to this I'd imagine) gain somewhere around .75*-1* of negative camber for every inch as the suspension travels (squat) in the rear. |

First he would have to launch and some how record how much his suspension actually Squatted. From there he'd have to find out how much negative camber he gained with that amount of squat, then add that amount of positive camber so that at full squat the car zeros out. |

It looks like it hooks pretty good. Have you ever thought about giving up on the coilovers. Most drag guys run coilovers up front and put a drag shock and spring set up in the rear that allows more travel in the rear suspension. Too, you could try taking more air out of your tires. My car really squats but I run agx's in the rear with some sportline springs. At least with this set up you can adjust how stiff or soft your shocks are. Just a thought. Plus remove your rear sway bar.
