SR Why does my turbo get so hot???

I've noticed my turbo and manifold are getting really hot, what would cause this?

One of two things.
1.The hot exhaust gasses flowing through it from the engine.
2.From running a rich A/F.

It is not going to be cold.

yes, all turbos will glow red if boosted hard enough and long enough. for instance, a 50-120 highway pull will generally make them glow.

when i rape my turbo for a bit, it will start to glow red, its pretty cool looking in the mid-night after drifiting for a bit and seeing it glow.

mine is doing that too after like a 1 - 3 hard pull, it will glow real red.

A rich A/F runs cooler than a lean A/F. how come you're saying a rich A/F is causing the heat? The only thing that heats up under rich conditions is a catalytic converter.

Actually, EXCESSIVELY rich will heat things up too. But yes, lean = hot.
