This pisses me off
Took my car in to Welborn Tire in Anderson, SC for an alignment after replacing everything in the front suspension. I put in brand new Megan tension rods that I took care not to round of the jam nuts or scratch up or anything, however, they did not. here are some pics of what they look like now and when I spoke to the owner about it he didn’t know what a tension rod was. He spoke to the "tech" and he said well it didn't slip. Yea but how about using a wrench instead of a pair of vice grips or pliers, you stinking idiot.
here are the pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Dayuuum they fucked your shit up...sucks man. I feel you tho..now I drive over 60 miles to get my car aligned. Places around where I live suck balls. Did the same with my tensions rods and another place locked the nuts together on my RUCA's, had to buy new ones.

Lol they're just cheap ass Megan shit. I use vice grips to tighten my SPL jawns and they never like that.

Have you told the service writer to note it on paper for the tech to avoid scratching your parts. If it's not on the paper you have no one to blame but yourself. Techs that work on cars will never ever look/treat a nut/bolt like a baby. It's always function over looks. When you brought the car in he or she saw what had to be adjusted and they did their part. But now your only looking down on them for not knowing that you care about looks of your brand new part. Second thing, buy some real parts that are powder coated the right way and have stainless steel nut/bolts and not some sprayed over silver to make it look stainless steel. And if you try and blame the tech for doing a horrible job, you better never go back there again. If it was me I would make sure the next time you need to do anything with those rods you have to cut them. Megan paint is so such crap, after a few months the paint will start to fall off and rust in several places, even if you never put a scratch on them.

this is a joke right?
if you're really that picky about your car you wouldn't have crap parts on it but even so, those types of marks are very common to suspension parts that's the nature of them I have friends with Peak Performance/ SPL / Ikeya Formula parts and they aren't whining about scratches on their shit get over it |

first off its not about pretty and im fucking sorry that i have a family and cant afford to buy the most expensive part out there i had a bent rod and i replaced it. The point is any decent mechanic or hell anyone who has a fucking brain would have used an ajustable wrench not a fucking pair of pliers. again not about the scratches they rounded the fucking nuts off u jackass |

It's not expecting and accepting, it's the fact that you're complaining about shit that normally happens when you use a wrench on any suspension part.
The rounding off part is different though. That I can agree with, but complaining about the paint is just childish. Just like ManoNegra stated, there's people that run much more expensive parts that are far more scratched up than what you posted. Unless you're going to trailer your car to and from every car show and hard park it, you can expect for these things to suffer from a little wear and tear. Next time, go somewhere that deals with these types of aftermarket/adjustable parts. Not every alignment shop out there deals with adjustable parts on a daily basis. |
