simple question about powdercoated calipers - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

I had a set of z32 front and rear calipers coated a few weeks back and asked to not coat over the top of the letters. The powder coated said he couldnt do that. Long story short I want to know if i can just take a file or a sanding block and sand off the top of the letters so they'll be silver again?

Yes, that's usually how it's done. Tape off the surronding area and go to town. I'm surprised your powder coat guy didn't of that himself.

yeh, i was kinda upset about that... however it was only $60 to coat the front and rear calipers so i wasnt going to push the issue!
