i worked a double today, didn't get off until 8pm, so much snow had built up that SUVS were doing 20mph on the highway, the scarpers hadn't even gone though it hit us so quick. i live on a back road. i made it for over 25 miles cutting the wheel one way then violently counter steering to keep control. i ran out of luck on my road. my road, never mind, no matter how much i complain, it will only attract more post that argue. whatever man. i hate the snow.

I LOVE the snow.

Winter is the time of year when my car actually has enough power to throttle oversteer. Donuts and snowdrifts are the best finals study break ever. Oh, and I love how 90% of the people grew up here and have driven in the snow every year, but still suck so bad at it. They all go 15mph on every road, and lose all momentum to make it up hills, so funny.

I drive this on bald all seasons, and I find my complete lack of grip predictable and comforting. The fun far outweighs the bad of getting stuck.

I have a pretty good time in the snow and my tires are terrible, it just takes a little getting used to. I also have a Blazer for those really bad days so I can just toss it in 4WD and go, but most of the time the 240 does the job....it sucks you hate the snow man and it sounds like something bad may have happend sorry to hear that.

yeah today was one of those really bad days... like i said, 4x4s were going slow on the highway, i myself even thought "man come on you can go a little faster ect ect..." then i hit my back road that i live on... anymore back and it would be dirt. i dont think my road exist to the DOT ... i dont know man, im just venting. and the rest of the story... about 3 miles from my house im doing great in the snow thinking to myself, man the 240s doing great in this mess, ill be home as soon as can be... no sooner than i thought that to myslef i find my self conter steering thinking yeah ive got this, and i get off the pavement just a tad. a tad souldnt matter, unless its on a very steep enbankment. i call my dad who has a 4x4 nissan pickup, we try to pull it out and it ended up in me slinding more down the bank the way my car was sitting... if we tired anymore i would have to risk it sliding the rear end of the car more down the bank.. (not good. rwd car on a steep bank with its back tires at the bottom of the hill covered in snow.) so i had to call a wrecker to pull me out with a wench. yeah, for me winter sucks.

get snow tires and stop whining. 4x4s are not that much of an example, every time it snows overhere, i fly by them like they are rwd and i'm awd.

I too hate snow, but for the exactly opposite reason: too many dumbfucks taking up all the lanes going 15mph cuz they think its the end of the world. seems like noone ever heard of winter tires...

Ya quit whining. I live in Chicago. I have snow tires but rode on Azenis (2 of em bald) for about a week and survived. If you can't figure out when your rear end jumps loose then you need to relearn how to drive.

There are tons of people in 240s, miatas, various rwd domestics, that drive in snow and don't have problems, most of my friends w/ 240s don't have snow tires and they do just fine, snow tires just make it even funner when you go mess around (higher speeds).

Now if you got a 2way then its gonna be a big pain, but most of my friends still survive, just practice, you'll tend to slide around a lot, but don't keep pushing it and you won't spin out. And if you dont have ABS extend your braking distance by a lot.

Yeah I live in Wisconsin. I have a love hate relationship with the snow. Being originally from Louisiana, I am used to the warm and hate the cold, snow, slush, salt shit. However I LOVE driving in the snow, since my car is stock and doesnt have much power yet I can slide it around corners do dounuts and shit and have fun. When it snows me and my friends go out all night finding any twisty road or parking lot we can.

According to your sig you have vlsd and abs. NO EXCUSE!

Think about this, until the mid 90's all volvos were rwd. And Sweden has tons of snow. You can do fine in snow with rwd, you just have to be carefull.

snow is completely kick ass until something happens, and usually its pretty bad...

empty parking lots are sweet when they have less than an inch of snow, otherwise there isnt enough grip to actually do anything...man its been awhile since ive hit a parking lot

racing in the snow is no different than racing on concrete, just less grip all racing techniques still apply, its just that your mistakes are over exaggerated as you have found.

ok i asked for that, but i still say, for a car give me pavement... if i crash its big $$$, on my yamaha warrior i can just flip it back over and keep gettin it, and the most that would get messed on (on the quad that is) is more than likely bent bars.... im beginning to see why my girlfriend hates to argue with me... i just dont stop, its like im a compulsive arguer... and i still dont like snow. you have go go outside, warm your car up, get the door unstuck, scrape the windows, and so many other things....

also... question... how many rwd cars race in the snow at high speeds...

rwd rally cars? can't really think of one off the top of my head. however you're not doing 80mph sliding into a hairpin on ice. u just wanna get from pA to pB. i KNOW you can do this... back in the day EVERYONE used to drive 5 (or 4?) spd RWD cars. skill isn't an issue ... just practice. just get snow tires and ull be fine. take it nice and slow. be one of those a-holes driving 5 mph on a highway in snow. who cares as long as you're safe. nobody owns the road.

I am going ice racing this weekends, should be hella fun. Just practice, don't run from it, you are lucky to have 2 cars, keep it that way and don't be stuck not drivign anything when the truck breaks because you never learnt how to drive in the snow.

I now can't drive FFs in snow/ice situations, not used to understeering in low traction situations anymore.

Find a lot/warehouse with your truck, then practice in your car, it'll be worth it, don't handicap yourself.

And I don't think we are jumping on you, we just think you shouldn't give up, or move becuase you refuse to practice in the snow, you aren't the only one who drives RWD cars.

you know what.... last night i parked my 240 in the garage to fix the rear mudguard from where the chain pulled it out of place when we trired to pull it the first time... after i did that i decided to check the air pressure in my tires... front ones were good... but in the back i had 14 lbs in the rear drivers side, and 32 in the rear passanger side...

slow snow driving is pretty much the best stage for testing your turn-in and wheel placement, but highway snowdriving is fukin scary! I drive in the snow at night around 2am when noone is out...ooooh yeahhhh......Hondas, hate on me, i like it!
-Ever notice how every WRX or EVO is not in the driveway when its snowing, and every 240 is parked??
