XXR's are pretty sweet for the price...

I've ran rota's and they have held up just fine....Of course you will see a couple of broken wheel pics if you look hard enough, when compared to the hundreds of thousands they sold that's nothing....Ive drifted, raced, and dd'd on rota's with no problems whatsoever. XXR's as well as Rotas are cheap and most of the time heavy ass wheels, but that's it....Saying that there unsafe is BS, just by looking at broken wheel pics...Do you have any other proof? I'm pretty sure i can break ssr's if i tried hard enough...

it shouldnt because.. 1. its not a 526 or 527. 2. brand or oem wheels also can crack or break.

I was talking to my buddy the other day and he pointed out something that at first I laughed at, but the more I thought about it the more it made sense.

Someday, when were all old as fuck and our Nissans are antiques,

Xxr's will be valuable/expensive as shit

They are already popular now, someday in the year 2080 I'll be at a swap meet and I'll see some vintage mint condition 962's or whatever with a huge price tag.

Just like with the muscle cars, fads that were considered stupid and waste of $$ by the hardcore enthusiast then are selling for fortunes at auctions now

Look at the test... it seems sketchy... the bounce on the imitation wheel is less compared to the original wheel, which leads me to believe they use different test methods

Yes, use fear to push your product... Why not just leave OEM product on the car then.

I could buy "ebay no brand" wheels may be dangerous, but any manufacture selling their product in the US under a legal corporate name or Tirerack/Discount-Tire is going to be putting out a product in the safety range of OEM.

I've never seen a wheel simply "come apart" or "shatter". The only busted Rota's and XXR's I've see are from full on "car is totaled" accidents and I doubt a Wed or Volk is going to do much better. Big-Name wheels scratch, chip and dent just like anything else. Ask Volkswagen guys how much the love their BBS wheel coatings which fade, chip and peep as soon as the wheel is mounted.

Expensive wheels are expensive because of Material and Process (their are often lighter), exclusivity (fewer you make, the more each costs) and higher overhead costs. Japans overhead is insane and naturally anything made more developed there is expensive. Is a Sony computer really better then a top-tier Lenovo or Apple at the same price point?

There is a reason Samsung, LG, Insignia and the likes are raping Sony in the electronic business as well as how the Korean car makers are fast eclipsing dinosaurs like Toyota and Honda.

They didn't display a impact weight from what I could see, how do i know they hit them equally hard. Even if they did, that hit is like you hitting a wall driving, so you and your car are already fucked. At that moment I don't give a crap if my wheel is cracked or just scratched, I have insurance for that stuff.

id also like to see an OEM wheel hold up to the same test.
my guess is the cracking is from it being cast and not forged. I doubt an OEM wheel would fair any better.

OK OK the video was a bad example. There are just too many variables.

But My whole original point was, I dont like that fact XXR/sportmax/rota does not have an original design in their lineup. That coupled with the fact that use inferior manufacturing and materials, should be enough for people to shy away.

Once again this is simply MY OPINION, all of you will continue buying fake wheels and I will continue bitching when I feel the need. I will stay out of your fake wheels threads even though the point in us all being here is to share points of view.

As for the wheels breaking I have seen both XXR and rota crack spokes under high hp/load circumstances. I know everyone's defense is "well I dont have a lot of power, I just wanted my daily to look good" yadda yadda. I never said they shatter or explode or anything along those lines

First, what is "inferior"? the fact that they are cast like OEM wheels? It's call "less expensive".

Original Designs? Wheels all look a like anyways. Just tweak that, change this.

Second, well Third really; not one page ago you said you hand no experience with XXR and cited the irrelevant example of Rota. Now you are saying you have seen both Rota and XXR bust apart. What styles? Who are the owners? Links to the threads? I'm sure someone would be screaming about there brand new XXRs coming apart on some forum somewhere.

Was this at a track? Dyno? Street? Improvised road in Afghanistan?

Whoa I was trying to gracefully bow out but I guess not.
Yes i stated I have no PERSONAL experience with either of them but I have had friends break rims on the street. sorry theres no thread about it because it was in real life, And not all 240 owners are members of zilvia. I never said that I had seen them "bust apart". I will see if i have pics or if any of my friends have them.
I dont think all wheels look the same, regardless of a tweak here or there. There are well known designs specific to a model or brand and XXR practically photocopies them.
What does the style of wheel or who owned it have to do with it? Are you saying that XXR's performance and materials vary by model and who buys them?

Mustangs are not for sale in Japan because they don't met whatever standard... SR20DETs didn't meet US Emissions standards...

Ever think there is more to standards and laws then simply "better" or "safer"?

Hre wheels have some problems if u track heavily, the hardware they use isn't very good and the face of the wheels have seperated from barrells before. .... So low price and high price wheels all face issues, regardless.... If we add statistic into the equation ... We can conclude with a 95% confidence level that all wheels regardless of make are prone to failure... The end lol
