Ya looks real odd, especially in person. THe way they had it at the auto show was on an incline facing down so you see the little dinky thing a mile away. Its all good though, there isn't much of a place to put an intercooler, and why should they follow SRT4 and EVO and have big FMIC, its the size of most SMIC.

Big IC is just more space to fill, more turbo lag. As long as its efficient, it'll work just fine.

how much power is the mazda speed miata is supposed to be making? even jes a freakin 40hp bump from stock would make a huge difference on a 2000lbs car. Oh yah the other thing...i cant wait for the HARDTOPS to come out, that car will be a BEAST!!!

It wouldn't be anything we were into though. The S-chasis's are dead, they'd be turboing Altimas or Maximas or something.

edit: oh wait, they might release the Z33 in turbo, I heard Mazda is considering doing that with the 8's. (these are just rumors of course)

i dont think the Z33 will come turbo, anytime soon that is. this car is selling real well and there is no REAL competition.. until the supra comes out, things will be the same for the Z.

and they have every reason to. the renesis the the strongest motor yet and is no where NEAR pushing its potential within a good safety zone. mazda has even announced that they ARE going to do this. i wish i could find the article :\

Yeah but it just wont happen. The Z motor is already being pushed to its limits as people are blowing them up as soon as they strain them, this is why they already sell high performance internals for the Z33 motor in Japan. Having NISSAN make something crazy so early in the game is silly, the Z is selling like hot cakes and is fine right now.

The mazdaspeed Protege is a fun can with no potential. You really can't just crank up the boost. I think that MSP would be tons of fun at 10-12psi but you need some injectors slightly bigger then the 265cc that come stock.

On the other hand the hardtop miata is the sex!

yeah....the RX8 is nothing speedwise compared to the twin turbo wankels of old.....although,given a turbo or two,the wankel can't compare to the renesis....

that and the renesis is just freakin BULLETPROOF. now, there are stories about the owners complaining that in under 3k miles their motors are running like crap. unfortunately a lot of those owners got their low hp number estimates from dyno runs. WHO THE CRAP RUNS A NEW MOTOR ON THE DYNO. 40% of all rx8 owners are fcking retarded. oh, and don't get me wrong, oldschool wankels are the SHIIIIIIIT! My friend has a 10th anniversary thats got 90k miles on it, i love that car to death.
